Sofie Horten was one of Denmark’s first women journalists. She made her debut as a freelance journalist in 1888 and was later appointed editor of the magazine Husmoderen [The House Wife] which was to be renamed Hus og hjem [House and Home]. Sofie Horten was also an active translator of German, Swedish and English books and participant in the movement for women’s right to vote.
