Jane Eyre translation: 1944
Aslaug Møller was a writer and translator. She received a degree in English language and literature from University of Copenhagen in 1903 where she was a student of the internationally acclaimed linguist Otto Jespersen. As a translator of mostly British and American literature she often wrote under the pseudonym of Aslaug Mikkelsen which was her maiden name. Throughout her career she was an ardent member of the women’s movement in Denmark and worked especially to improve the conditions for women academics and women students.
